Micah Chapter 2

- (KJV) Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.

- (CPDV) Woe to you who devise useless things and who work evil in your beds. In the morning light, they undertake it, because their hand is against God.

- (DRC) Woe to you that devise that which is unprofitable, and work evil in your beds: in the morning light they execute it, because their hand is against God.

- (KJV) And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.

- (KJV) Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil.
- (ASV) Therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks, neither shall ye walk haughtily; for it is an evil time.
- (WEB) Therefore thus says Yahweh: "Behold, I am planning against these people a disaster, from which you will not remove your necks, neither will you walk haughtily; for it is an evil time.
- (BBE) For this cause the Lord has said, See, against this family I am purposing an evil from which you will not be able to take your necks away, and you will be weighted down by it; for it is an evil time.
- (YLT) Therefore, thus said Jehovah: Lo, I am devising against this family evil, From which ye do not remove your necks, Nor walk loftily, for a time of evil it [is].
- (CPDV) For this reason, thus says the Lord: Behold, I devise an evil against this family, from which you will not steal away your necks. And you will not walk in arrogance, because this is a most wicked time.
- (DAR) Therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye walk haughtily: for it is an evil time.
- (DRC) Therefore thus saith the Lord: Behold, I devise an evil against this family: from which you shall not withdraw your necks, and you shall not walk haughtily, for this is a very evil time.
- (WBT) Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil.
- (RV60) Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová: He aquí, yo pienso contra esta familia un mal del cual no sacaréis vuestros cuellos, ni andaréis erguidos; porque el tiempo será malo.

- (KJV) In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! turning away he hath divided our fields.
- (ASV) In that day shall they take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, [and] say, We are utterly ruined: he changeth the portion of my people: how doth he remove [it] from me! to the rebellious he divideth our fields.
- (WEB) In that day they will take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, saying, 'We are utterly ruined! My people's possession is divided up. Indeed he takes it from me and assigns our fields to traitors!'"
- (BBE) In that day this saying will be said about you, and this song of grief will be made: The heritage of my people is measured out, and there is no one to give it back; those who have made us prisoners have taken our fields from us, and complete destruction has come to us.
- (YLT) In that day doth [one] take up for you a simile, And he hath wailed a wailing of wo, He hath said, We have been utterly spoiled, The portion of my people He doth change, How doth He move toward me! To the backslider our fields He apportioneth.
- (CPDV) In that day, a parable will be taken up about you, and a song will be sung with sweetness, saying: "We have been devastated by depopulation." The fate of my people has been altered. How can he withdraw from me, when he might be turned back, he who might tear apart our country?
- (DAR) In that day shall they take up a proverb concerning you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, [and] say, We are utterly spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! He hath distributed our fields to the rebellious.
- (DRC) In that day a parable shall be taken up upon you, and a song shall be sung with melody by them that say: We are laid waste and spoiled: the portion of my people is changed: how shall he depart from me, whereas he is returning that will divide our land?
- (WBT) In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a grievous lamentation, and say, We are utterly wasted: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! turning away he hath divided our fields.
- (RV60) En aquel tiempo levantarán sobre vosotros refrán, y se hará endecha de lamentación, diciendo: Del todo fuimos destruidos; él ha cambiado la porción de mi pueblo. ¡Cómo nos quitó nuestros campos! Los dio y los repartió a otros.

- (KJV) Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast a cord by lot in the congregation of the LORD.
- (ASV) Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast the line by lot in the assembly of Jehovah.
- (WEB) Therefore you will have no one who divides the land by lot in the assembly of Yahweh.
- (BBE) For this cause you will have no one to make the decision by the measuring line in the meeting of the Lord.
- (YLT) Therefore, thou hast no caster of a line by lot In the assembly of Jehovah.
- (CPDV) Because of this, there will be for you no casting of the cord of fate in the assembly of the Lord.
- (DAR) Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast the measuring line upon a lot, in the congregation of Jehovah.
- (DRC) Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast the cord of a lot in the assembly of the Lord.
- (WBT) Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast a cord by lot in the congregation of the LORD.
- (RV60) Por tanto, no habrá quien a suerte reparta heredades en la congregación de Jehová.

- (KJV) Prophesy ye not, say they to them that prophesy: they shall not prophesy to them, that they shall not take shame.
- (ASV) Prophesy ye not, [thus] they prophesy. They shall not prophesy to these: reproaches shall not depart.
- (WEB) "Don't prophesy!" They prophesy. "Don't prophesy about these things. Disgrace won't overtake us."
- (BBE) Let not words like these be dropped, they say: Shame and the curse will not come to the family of Jacob!
- (YLT) Ye do not prophesy -- they do prophesy, They do not prophesy to these, It doth not remove shame.
- (CPDV) Do not speak by saying, "It will not drop on these ones; shame will not embrace them."
- (DAR) Prophesy ye not, they prophesy. If they do not prophesy to these, the ignominy will not depart.
- (DRC) Speak ye not, saying: It shall not drop upon these, confusion shall not take them.
- (WBT) Prophesy ye not, say they to them that prophesy: they shall not prophesy to them, that they shall not take shame.
- (RV60) No profeticéis, dicen a los que profetizan; no les profeticen, porque no les alcanzará vergüenza.

- (KJV) O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?
- (ASV) Shall it be said, O house of Jacob, Is the Spirit of Jehovah straitened? are these his doings? Do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?
- (WEB) Shall it be said, O house of Jacob: "Is the Spirit of Yahweh angry? Are these his doings? Don't my words do good to him who walks blamelessly?"
- (BBE) Is the Lord quickly made angry? are these his doings? do not his words do good to his people Israel?
- (YLT) Doth the house of Jacob say, `Hath the Spirit of Jehovah been shortened? Are these His doings?` Do not My words benefit the people that is walking uprightly?
- (CPDV) The house of Jacob says, "Has the Spirit of the Lord been weakened, or are such things his thoughts?" Are not my words good for him who walks uprightly?
- (DAR) O thou [that art] named the house of Jacob, Is Jehovah impatient? are these his doings? Do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?
- (DRC) The house of Jacob saith: Is the spirit of the Lord straitened, or are these his thoughts? Are not my words good to him that walketh uprightly?
- (WBT) O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?
- (RV60) Tú que te dices casa de Jacob, ¿se ha acortado el Espíritu de Jehová? ¿Son estas sus obras? ¿No hacen mis palabras bien al que camina rectamente?

- (KJV) Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war.
- (ASV) But of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye strip the robe from off the garment from them that pass by securely [as men] averse from war.
- (WEB) But lately my people have risen up as an enemy. You strip the robe and clothing from those who pass by without a care, returning from battle.
- (BBE) As for you, you have become haters of those who were at peace with you: you take the clothing of those who go by without fear, and make them prisoners of war.
- (YLT) And yesterday My people for an enemy doth raise himself up, From the outer garment the honourable ornament ye strip off, From the confident passers by, Ye who are turning back from war.
- (CPDV) But, to the contrary, my people have risen up in opposition. You have lifted the cover from the undergarment, and those who passed by harmlessly, you have converted into war.
- (DAR) But of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye strip off the mantle with the garment from them that pass by securely, that are averse from war.
- (DRC) But my people, on the contrary, are risen up as an enemy: you have taken away the cloak off from the coat: and them that passed harmless you have turned to war.
- (WBT) Even of late my people hath risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse to war.
- (RV60) El que ayer era mi pueblo, se ha levantado como enemigo; de sobre el vestido quitasteis las capas atrevidamente a los que pasaban, como adversarios de guerra.

- (KJV) The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away my glory for ever.
- (ASV) The women of my people ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their young children ye take away my glory for ever.
- (WEB) You drive the women of my people out from their pleasant houses; from their young children you take away my blessing forever.
- (BBE) The women of my people you have been driving away from their dearly loved children; from their young ones you are taking my glory for ever.
- (YLT) The women of My people ye cast out from its delightful house, From its sucklings ye take away My honour to the age.
- (CPDV) You have evicted the women among my people from their delicate houses. You have taken my praise forever from their little ones.
- (DAR) The women of my people do ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their young children do ye take away my magnificence for ever.
- (DRC) You have cast out the women of my people from their houses, in which they took delight: you have taken my praise for ever from their children.
- (WBT) The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away my glory for ever.
- (RV60) A las mujeres de mi pueblo echasteis fuera de las casas que eran su delicia; a sus niños quitasteis mi perpetua alabanza.

- (KJV) Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.
- (ASV) Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your resting-place; because of uncleanness that destroyeth, even with a grievous destruction.
- (WEB) Arise, and depart! For this is not your resting place, because of uncleanness that destroys, even with a grievous destruction.
- (BBE) Up! and go; for this is not your rest: because it has been made unclean, the destruction ordered will come on you.
- (YLT) Rise and go, for this [is] not the rest, Because of uncleanness it doth corrupt, And corruption is powerful.
- (CPDV) Rise and depart, for there is no relief for you here. Because of its uncleanness, it will be corrupted with a most wicked decay.
- (DAR) Arise ye, and depart; for this is not the resting-place, because of defilement that bringeth destruction, even a grievous destruction.
- (DRC) Arise ye, and depart, for there is no rest here for you. For that uncleanness of the land, it shall be corrupted with a grievous corruption.
- (WBT) Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a grievous destruction.
- (RV60) Levantaos y andad, porque no es este el lugar de reposo, pues está contaminado, corrompido grandemente.

- (KJV) If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.
- (ASV) If a man walking in a spirit of falsehood do lie, [saying], I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.
- (WEB) If a man walking in a spirit of falsehood lies: "I will prophesy to you of wine and of strong drink;" he would be the prophet of this people.
- (BBE) If a man came with a false spirit of deceit, saying, I will be a prophet to you of wine and strong drink: he would be the sort of prophet for this people.
- (YLT) If one is going [with] the wind, And [with] falsehood hath lied: `I prophesy to thee of wine, and of strong drink,` He hath been the prophet of this people!
- (CPDV) I wish that I were not a man who has breath, and that I rather spoke a lie. I will drop it down to you in wine and in drunkenness. And it will be this people on whom it will rain down.
- (DAR) If a man walking in wind and falsehood do lie, [saying,] I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink, he shall be the prophet of this people.
- (DRC) Would God I were not a man that hath the spirit, and that I rather spoke a lie: I will let drop to thee of wine, and of drunkenness: and it shall be this people upon whom it shall drop.
- (WBT) If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood doth lie, saying, I will prophesy to thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.
- (RV60) Si alguno andando con espíritu de falsedad mintiere diciendo: Yo te profetizaré de vino y de sidra; este tal será el profeta de este pueblo.

- (KJV) I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.
- (ASV) I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as a flock in the midst of their pasture; they shall make great noise by reason of [the multitude of] men.
- (WEB) I will surely assemble, Jacob, all of you; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as a flock in the midst of their pasture; they will swarm with people.
- (BBE) I will certainly make all of you, O Jacob, come together; I will get together the rest of Israel; I will put them together like the sheep in their circle: like a flock in their green field; they will be full of the noise of men.
- (YLT) I do surely gather thee, O Jacob, all of thee, I surely bring together the remnant of Israel, Together I do set it as the flock of Bozrah, As a drove in the midst of its pasture, It maketh a noise because of man.
- (CPDV) I will gather together in a congregation all of you, Jacob. I will lead together as one, the remnant of Israel. I will set them together like a flock in the fold, like a sheep in the midst of the sheep pen. They will cause a tumult before the multitude of men.
- (DAR) I will surely assemble, O Jacob, the whole of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as sheep of Bozrah, as a flock in the midst of their pasture: they shall make great noise by reason of [the multitude of] men.
- (DRC) I will assemble and gather together all of thee, O Jacob: I will bring together the remnant of Israel, I will put them together as a flock in the fold, as the sheep in the midst of the sheepcotes, they shall make a tumult by reason of the multitude of men.
- (WBT) I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.
- (RV60) De cierto te juntaré todo, oh Jacob; recogeré ciertamente el resto de Israel; lo reuniré como ovejas de Bosra, como rebaño en medio de su aprisco; harán estruendo por la multitud de hombres.

- (KJV) The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.
- (ASV) The breaker is gone up before them: they have broken forth and passed on to the gate, and are gone out thereat; and their king is passed on before them, and Jehovah at the head of them.
- (WEB) He who breaks open the way goes up before them. They break through the gate, and go out. And their king passes on before them, with Yahweh at their head.
- (BBE) The opener of the way will go up before them: forcing their way out they will go on to the doorway and out through it: their king will go on before them, and the Lord at their head.
- (YLT) Gone up hath the breaker before them, They have broken through, Yea, they pass through the gate, Yea, they go out through it, And pass on doth their king before them, And Jehovah at their head!
- (CPDV) For he will ascend, opening the way before them. They will separate, and they will cross the gate and enter through it. And their king will pass by, before their very eyes, and the Lord will be at their head.
- (DAR) One that breaketh through is gone up before them: they have broken forth, and have passed on to the gate, and are gone out by it; and their king passeth on before them, and Jehovah at the head of them.
- (DRC) For he shall go up that shall open the way before them: they shall divide, and pass through the gate, and shall come in by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the Lord at the head of them.
